There are eleven games across the NBA today, but only two are nationally televised. Of those two, one clearly is the best game of the day, the Boston Celtics versus the New York Knicks.

Boston Celtics: Dream On

The Boston Celtics are the best team of this decade, but are not playing as well this year as they did last year. However they are still considered favorites to win the title, and the Larry O’Brien Trophy resides in their locker room. The Celtics are coming off a surprising loss to the Dallas Mavericks without Anthony Davis.

They have responded well after losses this season, and are slight favorites against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Jrue Holiday will not play today, but Payton Pritchard is a leading sixth man of the year candidate. The Celtics should still be a force tonight, and if the Knicks want to beat them, Dream On.

New York Knicks: So What’cha Want

The New York Kicks are legitimate champion contenders and currently in third place of the Eastern Conference. They are only 1.5 games behind the Celtics and with a win would move to 0.5 games back. Possibly even passing them before the All-Star break.

Speaking of the All-Star game, the Knicks have two starters. Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Town are considered the best at their position in the Eastern Conference, and will need to be at their best to compete against Boston. They have an 18-9 record on their home court, and MSG should be loud and rowdy for this Saturday match. The Knicks are asking the Celtics So What’cha Want?

Celtics vs. Knicks Predictions & Picks Today: Saturday 2/8

There are several great wagers for this match, but the data indicates one prediction is more likely to happen than others.

Celtics vs. Knicks Prediction: BOS -3  (+100 on Bet365)

The Boston Celtics have bounced back after losses, and in a big way. Their win totals after their last four losses are; 22, 15, 40, and 27. The Celtics know this could be an important match for tie breaking scenarios, and want to add separation to their 1.5 game lead.

The New York Knicks have three starters listed as day-to-day and could decide to rest their players which would cause a drastic shift in the spread. It is currently set at -2 but the suggested wager is to tease it up one point. This moves the bet to positive odds and really is not much of a risk with one more point suggested.

The Celtics have not lost back to back games since Christmas, and the expectation is for them to play well under the national spotlight. Put a unit on the teased up spread.
